Michigan basketball traveled to the Bahamas and notched a solid win over Iowa State. Here are three things we learned about the Wolverines.

With Franz Wagner playing for the first time this season, it was hard to know what to expect from Michigan basketball against a solid Iowa State club in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Heck, playing a tournament in the Bahamas can make distractions a concern, but Michigan basketball was all business Wednesday and even though the Wolverines were sloppy at times, especially with the ball, the 83-76 win over Iowa State will look good on the resume all the same.

The Wolverines continued to shoot lights out, making 57 percent of their shots from the field as well as 47 percent from downtown with 10 makes, three of them coming from Isaiah Livers, who finished with 17 points.

Zavier Simpson had a weird game. At times, he played really well and he did finish with 10 points and 13 assists, as well as seven rebounds and two steals. Yet, he also finished with eight turnovers and as a team, UM turned it over 22 times.

However, a win is a win. Jon Teske stepped up in the second half and even though he was limited due to foul trouble, the 7-footer scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. David DeJulius was also spectacular off the bench, scoring 14 points and knocking down 2-of-3 shots from 3-point range.

Wagner also scored six points in the win. He can be forgiven for being rusty. He played well on defense and his presence helped the offense. At one point, Michigan basketball trailed by nine in the first half, but a series of runs put them up by 14 at one point and the neutral-court win send the Wolverines into the semifinals Thursday against either North Carolina or Alabama.

Here are three things we learned.
