A blocked punt or return TD could go a long way

Turnovers often make a difference in big games, but another area that can change the game is special teams.

Whether it’s a blocked kick, a big return or whatever, big plays on special teams can definitely alter the outcome of the game and it’s a way that Michigan football could pull a massive upset.

Khaleke Hudson has been a master at blocking punts and holds the school record for blocks. If he were able to get his hands on a ball against the Buckeyes, maybe leading to some easy points, it would be exactly what the Wolverines need to close the gap.

Two years ago, Donovan Peoples-Jones nearly returned a punt for a score and it helped Michigan build a double-digit lead on Ohio State. Remember, even though the Wolverines got dominated in 2015 and 2018, in 2016 and 2017, they led by two scores and easily could have won.

If a play or two would have gone their way, the outcome could have been different. And Saturday, maybe a return from Peoples-Jones or a big kickoff return by Giles Jackson could be that play.
