Michigan football has plenty of momentum heading into the Ohio State game and here’s what the Wolverines must do to beat the Buckeyes.

At first glance, it might not look like Michigan football has much of a chance against the Ohio State Buckeyes this week.

After all, Ohio State hasn’t just been good this season. The Buckeyes have been dominant. In their 11-0 start, they haven’t really been challenged and Penn State, which lost by 11 was probably the toughest game of the season.

The same hasn’t been true for Michigan football, which has experienced trials and tribulations from the start of the season. There was the overtime win over Army, the blowout loss at Wisconsin and then the failed comeback against Penn State.

Lofty goals like winning the Big Ten or making the College Football Playoff aren’t possible. But after winning four straight games in dominant fashion, Michigan football can still save its season.

All it needs is a win over Ohio State and it’s a win that many in the program need desperately.

Jim Harbaugh has to prove he can beat the Buckeyes before his program can really take the next step. Shea Patterson needs a win for his legacy or he will be remembered more for his big-game failure than his gaudy statistics.

Michigan football fans who have been basically tortured since the arrival of Jim Tressel, need a win. The suffering needs to stop. Whether it will is a big question, but if the Wolverines do these five things, they will win Saturday.
