Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Indiana
Michigan will win rushing battle
No matter how often we see teams in the spread offense and throwing the football, the running game still matters and most of the time, the team that does better on the ground, wins the game.
For the past few weeks, that’s been the calling card of Michigan football. Establish the run, get solid QB play and just dominate defensively.
It worked against Notre Dame, Michigan State, Maryland and even Iowa early in the year. The ground game hasn’t always been dominant, but against Maryland and Michigan State, it did enough.
Michigan comes into this weekend averaging 4.1 yards per attempt, while Indiana allows 3.9. That’s not a bad number, but it’s not up to par with the Wolverines, who are giving up only 2.8 yards per rush.
With Michigan’s front seven dominating and the offensive line playing well too, UM should control the trenches and when it’s all said and done, it should have a healthy advantage when it comes to rushing yards.
