Michigan football hits the road to take on seven-win Indiana Saturday and here are five predictions for the Wolverines and the Hoosiers.

There probably aren’t many series as lopsided as the one between Michigan football and Indiana. The two teams have had some very close games over the years, but UM has won 23 straight over the Hoosiers, a streak it hopes to continue Saturday.

Winning in Bloomington hasn’t always been easy for the Wolverines. The last two times Michigan football has made the trip, it took overtime to upend the Hoosiers. Four of the last six trips have resulted in games decided by seven points or less.

The common thread though is that Michigan football has always come out on top and actually hasn’t lost at Indiana since 1987, which was the last time the Hoosiers won a game in this series.

But this Indiana team is different. The Hoosiers are 7-3 and with a couple of wins, they could be playing on New Year’s Day, possibly even in the Outback Bowl and while that may seem like a consolation prize for Michigan football, it would be a huge achievement for IU.

Tom Allen has the Hoosiers headed in the right direction, but the program still needs that signature win. Jim Harbaugh is looking to get his over Ohio State, but for Allen and Indiana, a win over the winged helmets would do just fine.

Whether it happens remains to be seen, but here are five predictions for the Wolverines and Indiana.
