Michigan Basketball: 3 predictions for Wolverines against Creighton
Who wins
This is a really tough call because Creighton and Michigan feels like it will be a tight game. It’s a huge game for Juwan Howard and it’s his first real test as the head coach.
Creighton is a team that also is hoping to get to the NCAA Tournament and with guys like Ty-Shon Alexander and Marcus Zegarowski, that’s a possibility. McDermott is also a proven winner and the Wolverines will need to put forth a better effort to win.
Playing at home should give Michigan basketball an advantage. Having a game under its belt should also help. There was always going to be a few rough patches in the early going. This is a new team, with a new coach and basically, an entirely new staff.
It will be interesting to watch how the offense and defense executes and how Howard deploys his guys. The main four guys will be key: Livers, Teske, Simpson and Brooks have to step up and be consistent on both ends. Then if Colin Castleton, Nunez, Brandon Johns and DeJulius can make some contributions, it should be enough.
This one goes down to the wire and the Wolverines hang on at the end.
Prediction: Michigan 66, Creighton 63
