Michigan Football: 3 ways Wolverines win, one way they lose to MSU
Notre Dame or Maryland?
In a downpour, the Wolverines excelled at home against a Notre Dame team that couldn’t get anything going for 60 minutes of play.
A limited Shea Patterson – limited in terms of passing attempts – didn’t have a throw land in Notre Dame hands and he threw for two touchdowns.
The running game was phenomenal. Sophomore Hassan Haskins ran for 149 yards and was supported by the true freshman Charbonnet who had 74 yards of his own and, like Shea, accounted for two touchdowns.
One week later, a different team showed up. Sure, the Wolverines won, but it was Maryland; a team at the bottom of the Big Ten. Haskins was held to 60 yards, and Shea’s performance might have been good enough to defeat the Terrapins, but they would’ve lost in the face of stiffer competition.
So which Michigan football team do we get? Well, to be honest, either team would likely thrash MSU in the Big House, but it would be nice to see the one that showed up for Notre Dame.
The third way the Wolverines win: By just showing up to the game. Don’t wake up late, don’t party the night before, just get up and get to the stadium.
Michigan State is not a bad team, but Michigan is better and, as long as all of the players arrive on time, they will not lose to the Spartans.
