Michigan Basketball: 5 Predictions for Wolverines in 2019-2020
Wolverines will surprise in March
Michigan will get to the Elite Eight during Juwan Howard’s first year.
It’s not even that farfetched, think about this: Loyola Chicago made it all the way to the Final Four. When you consider that, it’s not even that bold of a prediction.
With a win count around 27, a prime performance in the Big Ten Tournament fueled by a breakout season from Isaiah Livers, and the momentum from the recruiting trail, Michigan will be handed an eight seed as an underdog in a field of sheep, and they will feed themselves all the way to the Elite Eight.
Franz Wagner arrived with the promise of greatness, and his injury has deflated the hype balloon surrounding what we all would hope to be a relatively successful season under the new administration.
He will be back, however, and just in time to complement Livers and give the Wolverines the missing piece of the puzzle that, when viewed from above, displays a wildly successful and promising future for Michigan basketball. A team that falls near the top only to return with the best in the business.
For years, the Wolverines have been knocking on the door of a National Championship, only to fall short of the ultimate accomplishment. For Howard, that door might open sooner rather than later.
