Defense

For years to come, Josh Jackson will have nightmares that will consist of Josh Uche violently assaulting him in the backfield.

Defensive line

Grade: B

Four sacks and 129 yards allowed on the ground. We have yin and yang. Running backs Anthony McFarland and Javon Leake had their way with this defense, but the pass rush was incredible for much of the afternoon.

The best statistic of the day: Josh Jackson rushed for -32 yards.

Linebackers

Grade: B

Holes appeared that were not instantly filled by the Wolverine linebackers resulting in extra long runs like the one McFarland had for 15.  But overall, this defense, and especially the linebackers, played well and gave up ZERO points.

Cornerbacks/safties

Grade: A

The Maryland offense was mostly held at bay with just over 100 yards total through the air, although, Terps receiver Brian Cobbs had a pretty good game.

Josh Metellus, on the other hand, had a career game accounting for nine tackles and an interception.

“We’re at a great spot. The trust on this team is at a high level,” Josh said in the postgame conference. “I feel like we’ve been showing up every week since the Wisconsin game.”

That’s true, Josh.  You also brought up a repressed memory for most of the fanbase, so thanks for that.
