Maryland will be limited but will hit on some big plays

The Terps are a scary team because they have talent, they just haven’t clicked on all cylinders since early in the season. But if the team that dominated Syracuse shows up, Michigan football could be in for a game.

Josh Jackson is expected to start at quarterback and while he can do some things running the ball, he only completes 50 percent of his throws, although he does have 10 touchdown passes this season compared to four interceptions.

The biggest key for Michigan will be stopping Maryland’s rushing duo of Javon Leake, who is 8th in the Big Ten in rushing and Anthony McFarland, who had a huge day last November against Ohio State.

Against Michigan’s defense, it will be hard for the Terps to consistently move the ball, especially with the way the Wolverines have been able to stop the run. Yet, with the aggressive way Don Brown calls his defense, especially against lesser teams, Maryland figures to hit on a few big plays.

That won’t be enough to pull an upset though, that will take a much more consistent effort.
