Who will score?

It’s no secret that Michigan basketball lost a ton of scoring production off last season’s team, including its three leading scorers, Jordan Poole, Charles Matthes and Ignas Brazdeikis.

The most natural option to make a big leap in scoring is Livers, who averaged around eight points a game last season, mostly coming off the bench. His best attribute has been his jumper as he connected on 42 percent from deep. He’s also changed his body to get quicker and the ideal scenario is for him to be the leading scorer, at least while Wagner is sidelined.

Teske will also be counted on to score more, both in the post and out of the pick-and-pop. Simpson could also increase his average a little, but unless his jump shot gets a lot better, it’s hard to see that happening. You can only make so many hook shots.

DeJulius has shown promise and Howard said recently he has improved more than any other player since his arrival. His 3-point shot has been really good in limited glimpses, but seven makes against Detroit is impressive.

If he can keep knocking down shots, he will either start eventually or be the first guy off the bench. There are minutes to be had and whoever can consistently make shots will earn them.
