Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Notre Dame
Can Harbaugh finally beat another top-10 team?
Jim Harbaugh has one win over a team ranked in the top 10 and it came back in 2016, against Wisconsin, at the Big House. It’s been a long three years and Saturday night, you have to wonder if the reign of terror in big games will finally end?
Having the game at home should help. The Wolverines, like most teams, are much better on their home field and that should assist them in the early stages of the game.

But more than anything, this Michigan team needs to play with desperation and urgency. Many of these guys only have a five games left to define their legacy and right now, that legacy is nothing but mediocrity.
Players don’t come to the University of Michigan to be mediocre. They come to win championships and to beat teams like Notre Dame. Unfortunately, this group of seniors doesn’t really have a signature win under their belt.
Yes, there was the revenge tour and that was nice, but this is Notre Dame and winning this game could start a run that could actually save the season. Lose this game and the Wolverines will just be playing spoiler for the rest of 2019.
But a win could help this team contend for a New Year’s Six bowl and more importantly, maybe inject some big-game confidence which is sorely needed. This is a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Yet, only if the Wolverines win. Another loss, ugly or not, would be a massive blow.
My confidence level in this team is shaky, as it should be. However, with everything at stake and being at home, I think Michigan finds a way, even if it’s not pretty.
Final score: Michigan 24, Notre Dame 20.
