Michigan will set the tone with its physicality

No one is saying that Michigan football has been perfect the last three weeks, but there has been a huge difference, at least defensively, since the Wisconsin game.

You could tell the defense was embarrassed by how the Badgers manhandled it and the level of play has noticeably gone up. Sure beating up on Rutgers doesn’t matter or even Illinois, but taking it to a tough Iowa team and holding the Hawkeyes to three points was impressive.

I am not 100 percent sure that Michigan is going to beat Penn State. The offense has been too inconsistent to guarantee that, however, I’m confident that the defense and the offensive line will match Penn State’s intensity.

The Wolverines may very well lose this game, but it’s going to be close and they aren’t going to get trampled like at Wisconsin.

Being the tougher team led to a win last season in Ann Arbor and even if Penn State is the better overall team right now, it won’t be more physical than the Wolverines.
