Who wins

Say what you will about Harbaugh, he rarely has lost to teams he is supposed to beat and when his team is favored, especially against teams not ranked in the top 25, it’s been pretty automatic.

There have been some struggles on the road against teams like Indiana, Northwestern and Minnesota, so this game isn’t guaranteed by any means, however, it’s hard to see Illinois making this a four-quarter dog fight.

The running game has been getting better and with both the offensive line and running backs closer to being 100 percent, that improvement will continue. Peoples-Jones will make more of an impact and Collins will have a breakout game.

The offense, when it’s all said and done will roll up nearly 500 yards, with more than 200 coming on the ground. Patterson, like Peters, will have up-and-downs, but with a stout ground game, he will hit some bombs and start to build some confidence.

Illinois will keep it competitive and it won’t be washout like Rutgers, but the Wolverines will take control early and pull away in the second half. Final score, Michigan 41, Illinois 17.
