Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Iowa
Shea Patterson will shine against Iowa
It’s obvious that Michigan found something with Shea Patterson last week because he looked more comfortable than he has in a long time.
The question is whether or not that can be duplicated against one of the best defenses in the Big Ten. Iowa is allowing opponents to complete just 59 percent of their passes and have allowed just four touchdown passes, while notching three interceptions.
Taking care of the football will be paramount for Patterson and the Wolverines, but they shouldn’t be afraid to be aggressive. Patterson has four outstanding wideouts at his disposal in Nico Collins, Tarik Black, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Ronnie Bell, not to mention Giles Jackson.
Iowa doesn’t have the personnel to stop all of those guys and even if it risks an interception, Patterson needs to throw some 50/50 balls. Collins, Peoples-Jones and Black will go get it.
Those guys should be the focal point of the offense and if that’s the case from the outset Saturday, Patterson might have one of his best days as a Wolverine.
