One top 50 with his top seven

USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Arkansas, Florida, and Kansas are the competitors for the service of the 42nd ranked basketball player in the country. As the eighth-ranked shooting guard, Moses Moody has his pick of the litter, and yet he narrowed his list to seven, including Michigan in the mix.

Moody’s natural talents aren’t just what attracts the best coaches to him. Standing at 6-foot-5, Moses is the perfect size for the shooting guard position, and he uses his body well.

“Has length with an enormous wingspan for a wing.” Jerry Meyer wrote in his scouting report of Moses. “Smooth athlete but not an overly explosive athlete. High quality shooting is his greatest strength. Very good shooter off the catch. Dribble game and playmaking are improving. Has the size and anticipation to be a good defender. Solid rebounder. Length and shooting ability bode well for his future.”

There’s another aspect of the Montverde Academy star life that entices the kinds of coaches looking for more than a highlight reel player. As Moses writes on his high school’s website, “I play chess, write poetry and I am a 4.0 student.” Intelligence like that must not be wasted, and the Wolverines are uniquely positioned to provide excellent athletics and top of the line academics.

Juwan shouldn’t have to sell his alma mater, the last 200 years have done it for him.
