Isaiah Livers will play more on the perimeter

One of the Michigan basketball players that will have a huge impact on the success or failure of the Wolverines this season will be Isaiah Livers.

Last season, Livers came off the bench and sort of split his time in the post and on the perimeter. However, from what Howard said on Wednesday, it sounds like Livers is going to play much more on the outside, which should give him a chance to contribute much more offensively. Here’s what Howard said via UMHoops ($):

"“Isaiah has talent. He’s skilled. He’s a big wing that can play inside and outside. I know for Coach B, sometimes he played some five, but he was a lot thicker. He has transformed and got his body to a point where he’s lighter, moving faster, a lot quicker. I want to see Isaiah be more of a better defender on the perimeter than he’s shown. He’s going to have a chance to score, but I want him to be a two-way player.”"

It’s apparent that Livers is going to start and has the chance to be one of the most improved players on the team but his position has been debated throughout the offseason.

It sounds like Howard prefers to have him at the three, which could bump Wagner to the two and possibly open a starting spot for Brandon Johns.
