Zavier Simpson will shoot close to 40% from beyond the arc

It’s not going to be coach Howard who ensures Simpson drastically increases his shooting percentage from the outside; it has to be Simpson himself. For Zavier to have any realistic chance in the NBA, he must bring up his three-point shooting percentage to are 40%.

Getting there is not an impossible feat. When Zavier arrived on campus, he shot just 26%. The next year, he bumped it up to 29%. This past year, Zavier managed to elevate himself to the 30% mark.

If Zavier does succeed, he wouldn’t be the first Wolverine to tackle such a feat. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman started as a 30% three-point shooter and by the time he left, MAAR what drilling shot from beyond the arc at 37%.

Caris LeVert is an even better example. From the first time LeVert stepped on the court at Crisler Center to the time he left, he increased his three-point shot by 15% with a near 5% bump his final year.

Now, Simpson won’t have the talent surrounding him as he did a year ago. Or at least we don’t think so. There is an unknown joining the team this year that could make a big splash. As I stated before, Franz Wagner is projected by many to become a starter on day one.

What will the younger Wagner accomplish during his introductory campaign? That’s the subject of my next bold prediction.
