The defense

Wisconsin scored 28 points in the first half. It wasn’t the fault of just the defense. 41 minutes and seven seconds is the amount of time the defense spent on the field getting run over by Taylor. This wasn’t the first Don Brown defense exposure and it won’t be the last.

Defensive line

Grade: D-

ill-prepared is a nice way of describing what the Wolverines defensive line was able to do against the monsters on the Badger offensive line.

After the ball was snapped, the line of scrimmage began to move downfield, three to five yards. The holes were wide, and the mistakes were plentiful. Taylor averaged 8.8 yards per rush. There is nothing else to say.

Linebackers

Grade: D-

Former All-American linebacker, Devin Bush was missed and there was no attempt to train a successor. The linebackers appeared as torn as my meniscus, willingly allowing the Wisconsin offense to rush for 359 yards and five touchdowns.

Cornerbacks/safeties

Grade: C-

Badger quarterback Jack Coan threw 16 passes, completing 13 of them. The C- grade might seem generous, but none of those 13 passes ended in a touchdown. The minus part of the grade is due to the ineffectiveness of the secondary to help stop the run.

Overall, the cornerbacks and safeties only surrendered 128 yards through the air.
