Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against MTSU
Patterson throws for 250 yards and three touchdowns
There is a reason why so many fans and pundits are all-in on the Michigan bandwagon and maybe the most significant one is the return of Patterson as the starting quarterback.
Following a successful season, where he threw for 2,600 yards and 22 touchdowns, Patterson could have turned pro and probably be a day-two pick. Instead, he came back because he wanted to win a championship and beat Ohio State.
Then, as an added bonus, Harbaugh scraped his old-school offense and turned to a no-huddle spread under Gattis, who was the co-offensive coordinator at Alabama.
The Crimson Tide was awesome last season and their receivers excelled under Gattis, which is something that should translate to Michigan with Peoples-Jones, Collins, Black and Bell.
It was plain to see that the Wolverines had a slew of NFL-caliber wideouts in 2018 that just weren’t utilized. That won’t be the case anymore and in his first game in the new offense, I see Patterson throwing for at least 250 yards and a few touchdowns.
Expect some deep shots early. This isn’t Pep Hamilton’s offense anymore.
