Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines offense under Josh Gattis
The offense will finally deliver when it matters
The biggest issue with Michigan football in the first four seasons under Harbaugh is the inability to win big games. We all know that and so does Jim. He hasn’t shied away from it, saying his team embraces the suck.
That’s also why he made this change. Harbaugh is tired of losing to Ohio State; tired of losing to other elite opponents and tired of not winning championships.
Harbaugh and his staff have recruited some tremendous talent to Michigan, but in 2018, the offensive staff did the players a disservice. It didn’t use a system that would take advantage of all their talents.
Ohio State adjusted to what Dywane Haskins did well and it won because of it. Michigan failed to realize it had a game-changing quarterback in Patterson and receivers that can change the game too.
Harbaugh knew changes had to be made and he made them. Now, it’s time to reap the rewards and while I can’t say with certainty that Michigan will win every game or even beat Ohio State, this offense will be better, especially in big games and that will lead to more triumphs this season.
At the very least, the offense won’t hold back the Wolverines anymore, at least not the way it did previously.
