Michigan Football: Wolverines 5 most important games in 2019
Ohio State
Just when you think, this is the year, it must be; you hear Justin Fields has transferred in and will be immediately eligible. That’s the situation with Ohio State for the 2019-20 season.
For those unaware, Fields originally committed to Georgia until his attempted coup fell short. Wanting a starting role, he turned his attention to Ohio State where the job was recently vacated by Dwayne Haskins. Coming in with a five-star rating and a near-perfect composite score, Fields will be taking over in Columbus.
Harbaugh’s long-time nemesis has retired and the newly crowned Ryan Day has the reigns as the head coach and he hit the ground running. Ohio State has lost zero ground on the recruiting front, securing not one, not two, but three five-star commitments for the 2019 class. And the 2020 cycle is no different as the Buckeyes are atop the Big Ten and ranked fourth in the Nation.
But the immediate future is what the Wolverines need to concentrate on. Defeating the team that scored 62 points on them last year in what was the greatest disaster of the season.
Much like the game against the Spartans, Ohio State must travel north to face the dangerous Patterson with an also dangerous but unproven quarterback.
Will this be the year? Have the tides turned?
We find out November 30th.
