Notre Dame

The rivalry is back again at least for this year. Michigan and Notre Dame will battle the week after the Penn State game and hopefully, they can hash out a future where the two meet every year. Until then, we have the Fighting Irish traveling North to Ann Arbor to see if they can repeat the 2018 performance.

This year, however, there will be no Touchdown Jesus nor will the team slap the sign prior to hitting the field. Michigan will certainly have an advantage in that aspect.

Much like the Wolverines, Notre Dame lost their (almost) 1,000-yard rusher in Dexter Williams but they kept their quarterback in Ian Book. Book, of course, was the backup in the game last year and won the starting job later on.

The good news for Michigan in this game this year is Shea Patterson won’t be a newcomer to the Michigan offense. His first game for the maize and blue was against the 12th ranked team in the nation and he faltered. Not a terrible game altogether albeit he did throw an interception and he accounted for -21 rushing yards on the day.

Should Michigan eliminate the mistakes, they should handle Notre Dame with ease much like Clemson did to them in the Playoff game last year.
