Away at Penn State

Beaver Stadium will be at capacity and then some when the Wolverines arrive in what will most likely be a whiteout night game. The crowd will be loud and that is an understatement.

What Penn State will not be bringing to the matchup is the star power from years past. The Saquan Barkley’s of the world have moved on and so has the trusty quarterback known as Trace McSorley. Newcomers who Michigan has not seen on tape will be taking the snaps, adding an extra element of uncertainty.

At running back this year will be the five-star junior Ricky Slade who was 27th overall out of the 2018 class and he wasn’t the only five-star from that year. Wide receiver Justin Shorter will be giving the depleted Michigan secondary all they can handle in October.

Last year, head coach James Franklin was embarrassed by Michigan in Ann Arbor 42-7. He will be looking to exact revenge – much like he did the last time Michigan stepped on his field with a 42-13 beating when Barkley accounted for five touchdowns including that bumbled 42 yard catch where he was left wide open.

By all accounts, the Wolverines have the leg up personnel-wise; however, never sleep on Beaver Stadium.
