Away at Wisconsin

Jonathan Taylor did not need to return to college football. His quarterback was graduating and the 2019-20 season is in jeopardy without both of the Badger backfield staples.

In 2018, Taylor rushed for 2,194 yards, 285 yards more than Memphis’ Darrell Henderson, setting Taylor atop rushing leaders. Jonathan’s NFL resume was complete with highlight reel after highlight reel.

And yet he stayed, likely for his third and final season in the deep red uniform.

This, his final year, he will once again have the Wolverines right where he wants them, at home.

The record currently sits at 1-1 for Taylor. 2017 was a down year for the maize and blue and a loss at Camp Randall sent the 19th ranked Michigan football team packing back to Ann Arbor where the season ended with an 8-5 record.

Last year, UM was able to take advantage of The Big House and crushed Wisconsin 38-13. Although the Badgers were able to squeeze 283 yards, 101 of them were Taylor’s. That game featured the run-stuffing Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich backed up by the speedy Devin Bush. If not for them, how many yards would have been attributed to Taylor? Don Brown called the defense deep, but is it strong enough to keep Taylor and Co. at bay?

We find out at noon on September 21st when the two meet deep in Badger territory.
