David Ojabo

David Ojabo and all of the defensive ends at Michigan football are going to have some big shoes to fill following the graduation of Chase Winovich and the departure of Rashan Gary to the NFL.

Those guys were both elites. Winovich was outstanding on the edge and against the run, while Gary was much more effective playing his role than people realize. He constantly was asked to take on double teams and impacted the quarterback more than his sack numbers showed.

But that’s beside the point. Both Gary and Winovich are gone and while there are certainly some capable replacements for this upcoming season with Josh Uche, Kwity Paye and Hutchinson, not to mention Mike Danna, some new talent is also needed and Ojabo is turning heads early according to Brice Marich who posted as much on The Michigan Insider ($).

It’s early and we will see what info comes out this week as hitting starts in earnest. But so far, the 2019 class looks very promising. Stay tuned.
