Ever wonder who are Michigan football’s top five quarterbacks of the 21st century? Look no further as they are ranked here.

No team in college football has surpassed Michigan football in wins which is a big part of the Wolverines tradition. It also happens to be a statistic commonly used against Ohio State trolls on the internet.

That stat – which now sits at 953, 42 more wins than OSU – remains with the Wolverines largely due to the incredibly talented football players that commit to play in Ann Arbor.

While it takes an entire team to win the game, it becomes increasingly clear that a great quarterback is needed to take a program to the next level and here are five great quarterbacks took their Michigan football team to the next level.

Not just one of the greatest Michigan football quarterbacks, Jake Rudoch is one of the greatest college football quarterbacks.

After transferring from Iowa in 2014 where he threw for over 4,800 yards in two seasons, Jake immediately gave the 2015 Michigan team a huge boost at the position.

In that one year for the Wolverines, Rudock killed it in the air, throwing for 3017 yards and accumulating 20 touchdowns compared to just nine interceptions.

At the end of the season, Jake was awarded the 2016 Citrus Bowl MVP award for his performance in the win against Florida. In that game, Rudock passed for 278 yards and three touchdowns without committing a single turnover.

Following his college career, Jake was selected in the 2016 NFL draft as the 191st overall pick by the Detroit Lions. He remained with the Lions as the backup to Matthew Stafford until 2018 when he was waived and picked up by the Miami Dolphins.
