Harbaugh had to do it

“Urban Meyer’s had a winning record,” Harbaugh told the TK Show podcast. “Really, a phenomenal record everywhere he’s been. But also, controversy follows him everywhere he’s been.”

Jim was asked to clarify his statements in Chicago.

“No context you should know about,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t think it was anything that was anything new or anything of a bombshell. It was things that many of you understand and have written about.”

Matt’s musings

It had to be said and it took guts to say it. There were (assistant coach Zach Smith) domestic violence issues in Columbus. There were character issues at Florida.

Harbaugh was stating facts. The guy had a lot of issues. Whether they stem from recruiting questionable high school kids or mishandling a domestic violence situation, they are still clearly controversial.

And his comments were backed up by one of the best in the business.

“Jim Harbaugh told the truth,” Paul Finebaum said on The Opening Kickoff radio show. “He told the truth. Everywhere Urban Meyer goes, controversy follows. That’s interesting that someone tells the truth. A year ago, we were talking about Urban Meyer lying to the media.”

So yeah. Enough said.
