Harbaugh expands on why Gattis is a great fit

One of the most covered topics throughout the offseason has been the hire of Gattis and Harbaugh’s willingness to hand over the play-calling duties to his new offensive coordinator.

While Harbaugh has talked about why he hired Gattis before and gone into detail about how it happened, he was asked about it again Friday and he said one of the biggest reasons was to find an offense that fit the quarterbacks better, specifically, Shea Patterson, Dylan McCaffrey, Joe Milton and Cade McNamara.

Harbaugh said a spread system would be better for Patterson, who ran for two touchdowns last season and McCaffrey, who is another dual-threat.

The head coach said he has learned a lot from Gattis and that his system is great. So for those that don’t believe Harbaugh is serious about the spread, you better wake up, because this isn’t the same-old Michigan offense.
