Michigan Football: 5 key things Jim Harbaugh said at Big Ten Media Days
Harbaugh is high on his staff
One of the big offseason storylines was that former assistants Greg Mattison and Al Washington left Michigan to coach at Ohio State. Mattison left to become the co-defensive coordinator.
Harbaugh was asked about those former assistants Friday and specifically, whether or not that would amp up the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State even more.
Instead of taking the bait, Harbaugh reiterated how much he liked his current staff. While fans have focused a lot on Josh Gattis, the media too, others like Don Brown, Chris Partridge, Sherrone Moore, Ed Warriner, Anthony Campanile and Shaun Nua have all been great.
Warriner was hired last year and he did wonders for the offensive line. Moore is also in his second season and he has developed a great reputation on the recruiting trail, as have the three newest assistants, Campanile, Nua and Gattis.
It’s funny because, at the time, Michigan football fans were freaked out about the departure of Mattison. Now, it looks like the staff is improved from where it was last season.
