Goodnews Kpegeol

Yes, his name is Goodnews Kpegeol and it would be good news if he announced he will be playing for Michigan basketball for the 2019-20 season.

After initially committing to Kansas State, Goodnews left the program to develop at Southwest Mississippi C.C. As a JUCO transfer, Kpegeol was granted immediate eligibility and could be a force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten.

While Goodnews doesn’t have any ranking on 247sports currently, Kansas State’s website says he was rated No. 71 SG in the country and the No. 27 prospect in Florida.

His former head coach Bruce Weber points out he left KSU due to playing time.

“He just felt like he didn’t realize how tough a level it was, and he wanted to play immediately, sooner than later,” Weber said. “He just felt it was the right situation for him.”

Natural abilities coupled with a few years under his belt makes Goodnews the perfect candidate for UM going into the new season.

Prior to college, Goodnews did a postgraduate year at Taylor Made Prep in Florida where he averaged 15.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists while shooting 36% from the three.

Goodnews may not start for the Wolverines but he could definitely provide a couple of years of productivity from the bench with an above-average three-point shot.
