4-star RB Lawrance Toafili

After picking up a commitment from four-star running back Blake Corum, the Wolverines have less of a need at the position. Gaige Garcia, who is also going to wrestle for UM, will also be part of the 2020 class and is listed as a three-star prospect.

Yet, that doesn’t mean Michigan football is satisfied at running back and one name to watch there is four-star Lawrance Toafili out of Florida. The 6-foot, 180-pound runner is ranked 173rd in the 2020 class according to the 247 composite rankings and is 15th among running backs.

Toafili, who is being recruited by Jay Harbaugh, was also mentioned by Gattis in that tweet he sent out on vacation, which shows the kid is a priority. Two running backs seems to be a little light, especially for a position that doesn’t have a ton of roster depth right now, so getting Toafili into the mix would be huge.

However, with all of his crystal balls leaning towards Florida State, it looks like this could be an uphill battle for Michigan football, even with some of the recent momentum it has built on the recruiting trail.
