Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for the 2019-20 season
Michigan State, Ohio State, and the Conference Tournament
As for Ohio State, Michigan is going to play one at home and one away and they will take both. People generally tend to forget how talented this Michigan basketball team is even without the trio of starters who left.

Coming out of high school, Simpson was the 7th highest rank player from Ohio, the No. 13 PG, and ranked 67th nationally. While he only earned four-stars, his composite rating was 9748.
And then there’s Brandon Johns Jr. who hasn’t been able to showcase his elite talent. The Wolverines were able to steal him from the Spartans backyard where he was ranked as the second highest in-state basketball player, the No. 16 PF, and 70th nationally.
So much talent left on a team which is going to be coached by Juwan Howard – and the winningest head coach in St. Joseph’s history – all under one roof.
As to the in-state rival, my prediction is that the 2019-20 season will mimic the 2018-19 season in that the Wolverines are yet again swept by that team in green.
That gives away my Big Ten tournament prediction as well, giving State the title yet again, just barely escaping the Wolverines in a tight game.
My final (bonus) prediction: Michigan will have a successful season despite the setbacks. And for it to be considered successful, Michigan will have to win 20+ games and win a game or two during March Madness.
