Franz to the rescue

Franz Wagner will be the three for next season leaving only one position available, one position which Michigan basketball has the least amount of depth at.

We know Zavier Simpson will start at PG and if he improves his three-point shot, anything is possible with this team next season. His wild hook shot was a nice addition to his repertoire and showed the college basketball world that you can’t count out the little guy.

At center, you have Jon Teske. Teske and Simpson are heading into their final years at Michigan and yet their replacements are already making a name for themselves.

Who are their replacements? David DeJulius at one and Colin Castleton at five.

At the PF position, Isaiah Livers will be looking to make a big difference on a team which desperately needs him. His outside shooting ability will be his most desired attribute for the 2019-20 season and when opposing teams go with larger lineups, Livers should be replaced by Brandon Johns Jr. or Colin Castleton, moving Livers to the three.

That leaves us with the dreaded two position. Here are your available options: DeJulius, Adrien Nunez, and Eli Brooks.“`

My prediction: Brooks starts the year at SG.

Once the season kicks off and Adrien Nunez shows off his skill set, he could move into the two and would be a nice addition in terms of size (6-foot-6-inches compared to Brooks at 6-foot-1-inch).

My prediction for the bench: Six will be DeJulius, seven will be Castleton, and eight will be Johns Jr. Incoming freshman Cole Bajema could see some playing time but with him listed at 6-foot-7 and 175 pounds, the staff might feel it necessary for him to throw on some weight before he faces Big Ten opponents.

My prediction for the Rivalry’s and Big Ten Tournament: Coming up next.
