Michigan Football: 5 key targets for the Wolverines in 2021
3-star (Alexandria, VA) ATH Bryce Steele
Steele is listed as an athlete, but most major programs are recruiting him as a safety.
He was in town for an unofficial visit last weekend during Michigan football’s big weekend. This was his first trip to campus, and he will take his official visit further down the road.
The Virginia native looks an ideal candidate to fill the “Viper” role down the line for the Wolverines. He is strong enough to play in the box and stop the run, and shifty enough to cover receivers in the slot.
While he is “only” a three-star, Steele is a prospect I really like in the 2021 class. He’s a 6-foot-1 safety that ranks as the No. 28 athlete in the 2021 class and is a smooth athlete that reminds of recent commitment William Mohan, who is also going to be playing the Viper.
With Khaleke Hudson and Jordan Glasgow set to graduate, there will be a new starter there next season and who knows, by the time 2021 rolls around a guy like Steele could work his way into the mix.
He holds 15 offers at the moment, but Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State have separated themselves from the pack.
