Will a running back commit this weekend?

The Wolverines have put in a lot of work recruiting skill guys for the 2020 class, especially with Gattis bringing in his new vision for the offense. That has made a difference in wide receiver recruits and in general, skill guys seem more interested in Michigan football.

However, there hasn’t been a ton of news at the running back position for 2020 and you wonder if that might change this weekend with a commitment from a guy like Blake Corum or D.J. Jones?

When it comes to Corum, a product from St. Frances Academy in Maryland, the Wolverines are the odds-on favorite with all five of his crystal ball predictions. The No. 202 player in the 2020 class, the 17th-ranked running back and eighth-ranked player in Maryland would be a nice addition for UM which doesn’t have any running back commits so far.

While Corum seems like a certainty and could be locked in this weekend, Jones, a three-star back from North Carolina, is another option. Maize and Brew reports that Michigan is among his top two but the Tar Heels, the top in-state program, look like stiff competition.

However, if Michigan is able to wow Jones this weekend, the Wolverines could have a chance to overtake North Carolina and add another back to its 2020 haul.
