Can Michigan seal the deal with A.J. Henning?

When it comes to the 2020 class, Henning is likely the Wolverines top target remaining and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois is visiting this weekend in what should be his final visit before making his decision.

At different times this summer, it has seemed like Michigan, Georgia, Notre Dame and Penn State have all been in the running. It even felt like Georgia was the favorite a few weeks ago before Notre Dame, Michigan and Penn State re-emerged.

The Wolverines have been a threat all along and have had positive momentum with Henning ever since the hiring of Josh Gattis and the commitment of his close friend, 2021 quarterback, J.J. McCarthy.

When Henning revealed that he would be making his college choice before his senior season, many thought that was good news for Michigan football, because UM would get the final visit and presumably, the final sales pitch.

That is the way things have gone, however, it’s hard to get a read on Henning. If things go well this weekend, it could go a long way towards a commitment but the Wolverines have to work to do.
