Six and seven

Cesar Ruiz

I wasn’t lying about this Michigan football offensive line as the No. 6 ranked player on the roster is none other than Ben’s confused colleague Cesar Ruiz. By confused I mean he doesn’t know where he fits in the offense, starting five games at guard and 13 at center.

“I’m a real vocal guy. I’m quick with making decisions. I’m really confident,” said Ruiz, “I feel like that makes me a good center.”

The Wolverines had four returning starters on the line with only the right tackle spot left open. Sophomore Jalen Mayfield took a shot but the experts have Andrew Stueber filling the position come fall.

Zach Charbonnet

UM is lucky to have freshman running back Zach Charbonnet even though he needed a knee procedure done and couldn’t participate in spring practice.

The No. 4 running back in the country is looking to fill a void left by Karan Higdon and with Chris Evans officially out for the season, Zach’s skills are in high demand in Ann Arbor.

Charbonnet is competing with Christian Turner and Tru Wilson for time in the backfield with Shea.
