The schedule is set as is the Wolverines roster, so here’s a break down of Michigan football’s 2019 out-of-conference opponents.

Just two months and some change to go until Michigan takes the field again. On Saturday, August 31st, Michigan football will meet its first 2019 opponent, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

As we look forward the August matchup, it’s essential to do a review of what team will take the field.

At running back, veteran Chris Evans is gone for the year after an academic issue and there is no telling whether he will dawn the winged helmet again. That leaves freshman Zach Charbonnet, veteran Tru Wilson, and Christain Turner to fill the void.

Recruiting is over and Michigan brought in one of its best classes ever. No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 10 overall with star freshman Daxton Hill who is not only fast for his class but was recently ranked as one of the top ten fastest players in the country according to 247Sports.

“I think he has to be ‘a guy’ for Michigan in season one if the defense is going to be in the vicinity of last year’s unit.” 247Sports Sam Webb said of Hill, “I won’t be surprised if he is the day-one starter, and I would be surprised if he is not the starter by the midway point of the season.”

Sadly, receiver Oliver Martin is leaving the team but there is plenty of talent at the position especially with the emergence of Mike Sainristil during spring practice. Much like Hill, Mike’s incredible speed makes him perfect for the new offense.

While they will undoubtedly be some player or personnel changes before the season, the roster is complete for the most part. And these are the teams and rosters of the out-of-conference opponents for next season.
