Michigan Football: 4 recruiting updates for the Wolverines
Decommits
Michigan football has only lost two recruits this year and they are: Class of 2019 Amauri Pesek-Hickson and 2020 recruit Kalil Branham.
Amauri Pesek-Hickson
Amauri is a three-star and the No. 6 ranked player from Kansas and the No. 44 athlete. The same month Pesek-Hickson de-committed from the Wolverines he signed a letter of intent to play for Les Miles and the Jayhawks.
After his grades dipped the staff at UM asked Amauri to attend Prep School before coming to Ann Arbor which was something the family didn’t agree with.
“We weren’t (going to) commit to that.” Amauri’s dad, Shermaine Hickson said. “There needed to be a lot of things done still.”
Kalil Branham
Kalil is a wide receiver from the Buckeyes back yard. Michigan stole him from Ohio State back in June of 2018 only for him to de-commit last month.
It’s unknown the exact reason as to why Kalil changed his mind after a year but it’s possible the addition of Josh Gattis and the new offense wasn’t the best fit for the High School Junior.
Branham hasn’t announced where he will be playing in a couple of years but Kentucky has become the leader with crystal ball predictions.
“I like everything about UK, the facilities, dorms, the people, fans. I like everything,” Kalil told Kentucky Sports Radio last week. “They’re saying that I’m going to come in and replace Lynn Bowden. I’ll be the No. 1 guy. They say I’m a five-star recruit in their eyes.”
