Michigan basketball is losing a legend. John Beilein came to a broken university and turned it around in just a few years. What he leaves behind is a saddened fan base and hundreds of unanswered questions, namely, who’s next?

From 2007 to 2019, Beilein won 278 games, made two NCAA championship games, two-time Big Ten Championships, was given the Coach Wooden Keys to Life” Award, and being named CBS Sports National Coach of the Year are among just a few of his many accomplishments.
Aside from being a genuinely good person, John was a great coach and an excellent teacher. He is someone people look up to because he did things for the right reasons and kept the honor of Michigan basketball while the college basketball world was crumbling around him.
“I think Coach Beilein’s been a great asset to the Big Ten. I think he’s a great coach, but more importantly a really great person. Michigan State Athletic Director Bill Beekman said Obviously whatever is in his and his family’s best interest he should do but I think he’s a great asset to the Big Ten and he’ll be a loss.”
