Brad Stevens

Stevens is one of the names that came out quickly after the news of Beilein to the Cavs came out and for a lot of reasons, it makes sense.

The former Butler head coach, who led the Bulldogs to the national championship game twice, has been successful in Boston, winning 54 percent of his games and reaching the playoffs five years in a row, including two trips to the Eastern Conference finals.

Yet, the magic seems to be fading for the Celtics, who lost four straight games to the Bucks to exit the playoffs in the second round. Kyrie Irving could be on his way out and if Michigan comes at Stevens with a boatload of money, he might be willing to return to a college hoops contender.

If he returned to college, he would have tremendous success and would be one of the top coaches in the nation again in an instant. He would help with recruiting, he’s young (42) and he’s a great basketball mind.

On paper, there doesn’t seem to be a better fit for replacing Beilein than Stevens.
