Charles Matthews

Between the two years he spent playing for Michigan basketball, Charles Matthews scored a total of 946 points, shooting 52% from inside the arc and 31% from outside.

While his offensive production declined during his final season. Matthews could always be relied on as a lockdown defender.

Even with his skill on the defensive end, Charles is not listed on many mock drafts and is predicted to go undrafted or late in the second round.

NBAsoutinglive zoned in on Matthews March Madness showing in their scouting report.

"Charles Matthews is an athletic, skilled swingman that excels at attacking the basket to garner scores for his team.  He is quite adept at scoring on drives to the hoop, and he also can away with a handful of rebounds. He had a very good showing in his team’s win over Texas A&M in the Sweet 16, as he scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in that game.  He’ll need to improve his ability to shoot the basketball, but as he has had a solid junior season, he could end up being a second round pick in 2019."

NBAdraftroom listed Charles in their “On the bubble” section of the draft.

"Has ideal size but struggles to shoot the ball. A below average 3 point shooter and a very poor free throw shooter. But has some upside as an athlete with a chance to develop his outside shot."

There was a mock draft which had Matthews as the 52nd pick, landing him in North Carolina.

Walterfootball‘s mock draft predicts Matthews will be drafted by the Charlotte Hornets.
