Bleacher Report & SB Nation

Bleacher Report

The most aggressive ranking yet, Bleacher Report ranks Michigan in the top five, No.5 to be exact. While they don’t give a justification for their rankings, they are pretty high on Clemson and the Tigers long-haired QB sensation.

"The 19-year-old signal-caller is one of college football’s brightest NFL prospects, and he enters the offseason off a 347-yard performance against the Crimson Tide."

Their top four are Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State.

SB Nation

Yet another over-achiever, SB ranks the top 130 and their top 10 is the most perplexing of all of them.

Their projection; although, is done quite differently than the typical four sweaty sports nerds sitting in a room bickering about whose one and two. SB explains “the preseason S&P+ projections are a simple mix of three factors: recent history, returning production, and recruiting. To come up with 130-team projections for all of FBS, I create projected ratings based on each factor.”

Where is Michigan on the S&P+? No. 9. Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Ohio State, and Auburn, all rank higher than the Wolverines.

Mississippi State tops off the top ten according to SB Nation.
