Michigan Football: 8 headlines surrounding the Wolverines
Brandon Peters enters the transfer portal
Brandon Peters is not leaving Michigan football, he’s graduating and will forever be a Michigan man. He will; however, play football for two years at a different school.
Peters started his time for the Wolverines as the heir apparent to whoever could hold the starting job for more than one game and eventually became the successor only to be dethroned when the transfer portal, ironically, led to the addition of starting QB Shea Patterson.
Then some fantastic recruiting led Dylan McCaffrey and Joe Milton to Michigan who took over as two and three on the depth chart. To top it all off, Brandon was competing for the fourth string job with early enrollee Cade McNamara.
It came as no surprise that Peters would leave for a better opportunity elsewhere and he can do so with two years of eligibility and a degree. It worked out well for others as Wilton Speight transferred out of the program under similar circumstances and as of now, Speight is a 49er living his dream of becoming an NFL quarterback.
Peters did make the choice to stick with the team and travel to South Africa for one last fiesta and a final sendoff for the guy who stuck it out through thick and thin.
While Peters decides where he will continue his education and athletic career, the Wolverines have their man who is expected to have his best season yet.
