Michigan Basketball: Updating the Wolverines 2019-20 depth chart
Shooting guard
Starter: Adrien Nunez
Backups: Eli Brooks, Jalen Wilson
This may come as a shocker to some but Adrien Nunez might be the starter and he was made for this offense.
Duncan Robinson spent some time with the sophomore before he ever enrolled at Michigan and explained what to Nunez what he can add to the Wolverines.
"“He took me to the side, he was explaining the whole thing at Michigan and how he really likes my game and how it fits the whole system,” Nunez stated. “Duncan had actually watched a bunch of my videos on YouTube and it was like, you could just tell how engulfed these guys were in the whole Michigan basketball program.”"
Adrien was somewhat obsolete during last years campaign. As a freshman, Nunez played a total of 39 minutes of garbage time; however, his highlight reel from his senior year shows us why he will be assuming the starting role next season.
Aside from Nunez, the shooting guard position is very thin. Eli Brooks and Zavier Simpson saw some time together on the floor towards the end of that season which makes for a quick but vertically challenged lineup.
Incoming freshman Jalen Wilson is another option but he would fit in better as a wing considering he is 6-foot-8 and he is more familiar at forward.
