Michigan Basketball: Former Wolverine Jordan Morgan excels in Europe

Former Michigan basketball center Jordan Morgan is in the running for Center of the Year in the Basketball Champions League and he needs your vote.

Jordan Morgan played for Michigan basketball from 2010 until 2014 and after going undrafted, he moved on to play in Europe. Now, following a ‘strong season’, he’s up for the prestigious Center of the Year in the Turkish Basketball Champions League and he could use your vote.

Jordan had a strong four years playing for the Wolverines. He shot 63% from the field and averaged five rebounds a game. His best season would arguably be his first playing for coach John Beilein. Morgan averaged nine points a game and just under five and a half rebounds.

However, Michigan’s most successful season is undeniable during his junior year. During the 2012-13 college basketball season, Michigan went all the way to the National Championship before falling short to Louisville.

After college

Per basketball reference, Morgan started in the Lega Basket, Euro Cup, where he played in 42 games and received some well deserved minutes and averaged eight points.

In 2015, Jordan moved on to the LNB Pro A league and his minutes were cut and so was his production. At the end of the year, Jordan moved on the Greek A1 league and had his best season, nearly averaging a double-double per game.

Now, Jordan plays in Turkey where he is regarded as one of the best centers.

Playing for Banvit Basketbol Kulubu, “Morgan played 14 games in the Basketball Champions League for Olimpija and produced averages of 15.6 ppg and 8.0 PRG. He also logged 22 games in the ABA League and there he posted averages of 15.0 ppg and 7.2 RPG. Lastly, he appeared in a total of 33 games in the Slovenian League and averaged 13.7 ppg and 6.7 RPG, helping them capture the Liga Nova KBM championship.”

On April 27th, during Banvit’s last game, they blew out Sakarya 94-52.
