Michigan Football: 3 Wolverines rank in NFL draft top 100
No. 99
While Lavert Hill just barely made the list, remember that this list contains the top 100 players in all of college football.
There was a lot of speculation that Hill would declare for the 2019 draft but he decided to return to Michigan football for his final year and ESPN thinks Hill could be Michigan’s first player off the board.
According to the ESPN article titled The top NFL draft prospect for each Top 25 college football team, Lavert sits at No. 9, one spot below Florida corner CJ Henderson and one above Oregon QB Justin Herbert.
Their reasoning:
"Hill decided to spend one more season honing his cover skills in college before turning pro. He’ll have three years of experience playing aggressive press man and a solid track record of frustrating wide receivers."
Hill will certainly be one of the leaders on defense which features several other seniors who are expected to start this year.
