David DeJulius

DeJulius is another guy that got some experience during the 2018-19 season but didn’t play significant minutes.

There is a strong chance that he will play a lot more next season and we may even see him in the backcourt with Simpson more often. The two are both around 6-foot or 6-foot-1, so the Wolverines will need to protect the hoop with some bigger bodies and hope that they can hold their own defensively.

We know that Simpson is one of the best defenders in the country but could he possibly handle bigger guards while playing next to DeJulius. It’s an interesting question. Eli Brooks could be another option but he still feels like a backup to me.

For DeJulius, this is going to be a big year. Zeb Jackson is coming in 2020 and he has the look of a dynamic scorer, so the starting job at point guard isn’t necessarily going to DeJulius. A strong year this season would help cement his role going forward and is just one of many players Michigan needs to take a big step forward next season.
