The 3-star guard from 2018 class has a shot

Head coach John Beilein is known for developing players. He has a history of taking less-heralded recruits and turning them into NBA draft picks. Well, if there is one guy he might need to work his magic on, it’s Adrien Nunez.

Nunez played sparingly last season after being part of the Wolverines 5-man recruiting class in 2018. He was the lowest-ranked member of the group but there is a lot to like about him and Ethan Sears of UMHoops wrote how he was a perfect fit at the time of his commitment.

Nunez is a talented shooter and he’s not a guy that is not going to expect or need to get a ton of looks. He was smart enough to go to an Ivy League school and after being in the program for a year, should have a good understanding of the offense.

The system is going to be built this year around Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske, as well as some wings and forwards that can space the floor and shoot the ball. Nunez doesn’t have to be All-Big Ten. He just needs to defend and be a guy that can space the floor by knocking down some open looks, while also making the right decisions in Beilein’s offense.
